Geboren 27 mei 1900 in de mijnstad van Dupont, Pennsylvania. In 1922 verhuisde hij naar New York om te studeren aan het Pratt Institute in Brooklyn en studeerde af in 1926, en later leerde. Werd bekend om zijn illustraties voor het populaire boek edities.

- Belgian artist from Merksem, located near Antwerp.
